Wall Beds

The main difference between a vertical Murphy bed and a horizontal wall bed is the orientation in which the bed folds. Each type of bed has its own pros and cons, and the choice will depend on available space, intended use, and personal preference. 

A vertical Wall bed is great for any spaces that have regular ceiling heights (from 2300 cm from floor to the ceiling). Vertical Murphy bed position allows us to use space on the sides of the wall bed, by adding bookcases, shelves. So it is a good option which makes wall bed very attractive for room space saving. It takes up less floor space than a conventional bed, and this is a great choice for smaller spaces. 

The vertical wall bed folds up towards its height. When opened, it looks like a traditional bed. This type of bed is more common and generally works best in rooms with a ceiling high enough to accommodate the length of the bed. In addition, the vertical bed requires a fairly wide free space on the wall to unfold. 

The horizontal Murphy bed folds sideways, so the bed is parallel to the floor when closed. These beds are often preferred in rooms with low ceilings, or in narrow spaces where the clearance for a vertical bed would be insufficient. They are also often used for twin beds or children’s beds. 

This bed raises and lowers the mattress on the side, rather than the foot of the bed. In most cases you can build a bookcase on top of the bed cabinet, if there is enough space for it. The side mount Murphy bed is also ideal if you would like to install a TV on the wall above the bed cabinet. 

There is unlimited customization options with the horizontal wall bed set up, so You can choose any colors You want for wall bed base, additional cabinets on it or on the sides of the wall bed.   

The lifting mechanism used in our Wall Beds allows you to install both: a single bed and a double bed, with mattress sizes from 80×200 cm up to 180×200 cm. 

One of our most popular beds are our double Wall Beds. The beds are made with an Murphy wallbed systems spring-loaded lifting mechanism. Single wall beds are also often used for children’s beds. 

Choosing wallbed: If you share the bed with a partner, a double bed is better than a single one. Single beds are simply too small for two people to sleep comfortably. Even if you’re not sharing, having the extra space can make a world of difference in your sleep quality.

Bunk beds closes and opens in the same way as single horizontal beds. A ladder and a safety elements are supplied as an accessory for the second-floor bed. The beds are suitable for mattresses 80×200 cm and 90×200 cm. They are stable and strong, which makes them safe to use every day.
